Great News! We are extending the nomination period by one week. We will be accepting applications until Friday,March 24th 2017 4:30 PM. 

Becoming an executive is an excellent way to build transferable professional skills for the future career prospects, while providing valuable assistance to the ESA. Being part of the ESA will help you develop a solid understanding of the logistics required to operate an organization. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside a group of highly-motivated Economics students and foster a professional network for years to come. 

General Eligibility Requirement

Must be an undergraduate student at York University, in any stream of economic: Business Economics, Economics, or Financial & Business Economics.

Good Academic Standing

Elections Timeline Review 

Nomination period: ESA will be accepting application till Friday, March 24th, 2017 at 4:30pm.

Campaign period: Monday, March 27th, 2017- Friday, March 31st, 2017

Voting: Monday, April 3rd, 2017- Friday, April 7th, 2017 at 4pm. Voting will take place online. Voting instructions will be sent out on Monday, March 27th, 2017.

Results:  Announced via email to Economic students within 5 business days.


Mandatory information sessions will take place before the Campaigning period, candidates are required to attend or to send a representative on their behalf. Failure to do so will eliminate them from the electoral process.Information and details of sessions will be sent out at the end of the nomination period.

To nominate yourself, please fill out the attached forms (Nomination form + Application Package), attach your Resume,  scan and email it back to with “ESA election nomination” on the title.

The Department’s reception will not receive any nomination forms

Late, ineligible and incomplete forms will not be accepted

A student may be nominated for more than one position

If you have any questions, concerns or comments regarding Elections, please contact the Chief Returning Officer (CRO) directly.I will be hosting as well office hours every Friday from 2 to 4pm. I encourage you to drop by if you require additional information.The office is located in VC 101A.
